about

“The hardest part was to get you to like it” …
Ricardo saw potential in a few musical ideas started by guitarist Rafael Moreno … Rebecca did not hear anything but musical interludes. She listened many times but could not find a melody. Ricardo worked on a bass line and challenged Rafael to create more. The outline of the song was then again sent to Rebecca. She listened over and over and paired it with an intriguing set of lyrics. A vocal melody with mysterious harmonies was born. “See,” Ricardo said, “The hardest part was to get you to like it.” With Raphael Vendramini’s drums and having the opportunity to work with keyboardist Ronaldo Rodriguez from Caravela Escalarte, the song is complete. They will go on ...

lyrics

Stone arched columns
Reaching to the sky
While stained glass saints
Keep a watchful eye

The flickering candles
Offer up their flame
Burning in memory
Each one has a name

Secret whispered prayers
And downward stares
Among a sea of bowed heads
They remain still
They've got voids to fill
As an angelic calm spreads
Throughout the Cathedral
They will go on ......

Arriving every morning
Just as the bells toll
Offering up their prayers
Hoping to save their soul

One by one
They confess their sins
Bless them with the sacred wind
Absolving we begin

There's a sense of healing leaning forward, kneeling
And the burden is shifted, their spirit is lifted
They will go on ......

Secret whispered prayers
And downward stares
Among a sea of bowed heads
They remain still
They've got voids to fill
As an angelic calm spreads
Throughout the Cathedral
They will go on ......
